Our machinists are a key role to our operation for machining parts to print specification while maintaining necessary dimensions and using all necessary machining equipment. The machinist will adjust, set and measure for the proper length or dimension of desired product.

Responsibilities of the role, include but are not limited to:

• Select the appropriate tools, machine and material to be used in the preparation of our assigned task.
• Calculate any dimensions or tolerances using necessary inspection pieces to ensure accuracy
• Review all blueprints, drawings, job packets and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools and/or materials onto machines
• Ensure the feed and speed of the machine is accurate and precise during the machining process
• Ensure parts are machined to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders
• Set-up, adjust and operation all of the basic machine tools and any specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations
• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to prevent any malfunctioning and to determine need for adjustment or repairs
• Inspect, measure and test final products to check for defects and ensure quality conforms to specifications.
• Maintain all machines and tools in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule and assignments.
• Ensure all parts are labeled and kept with job packet and proper routing and signatures have been completed.
• Meet with all levels of team, including cross-functional teams to exchange technical information and ensure needs of customer, both internal and external are met.
• Dispose of all scrap material and store all raw and finished material in accordance with company policies
• Use and comply with all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to equipment and PPE protection.
• Maintain work area and all tools, tool boxes and benches in clean, orderly work area to be acceptable at all times.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and engineering information in an ISO certified company
• Must be able to do own set-up, preventative maintenance and clean-up of machinery and tools used.
• Good mathematical, geometry and computer skills necessary
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently, as well as a team
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write and communicate well with all levels of team
• Available for overtime as needed
