When you join PPGNY as the mail clerk you will assist various PPGNY departments with their day to day operations and ensure that incoming and outgoing mail is handled appropriately.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Handle the receiving, delivering and processing shipments.
- Receive and distributes freight packages from carriers such as UPS, FedEx and other small motor freight deliveries.
- Process all incoming and outgoing mail
- Sort and deliver incoming mail and packages
- Process interoffice mail
- Process packages for overnight delivery and special handling through UPS, FedEx and USPS.
- Maintain logs and paperwork for follow up and tracking purposes.
- Forward misdirected mail
- Prepare documents and other items for shipping
- Weigh mail and calculate correct postage
- Prioritize and respond to emergent situations, analyze and take appropriate action which may include outsourcing the work
You have:
- A demonstrated commitment to PPGNY’s mission related to bodily autonomy, health equity, and gender and racial justice
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous mail processing experience preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
- Minimum typing required
Compensation
- $17.00-22.00

All positions at PPGNY require:
Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
