MAIL SERVICES SPECIALIST
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Mail Services Coordinator
Location: Warch Campus Center Mail Room

PRIMARY* OBJECTIVE:
The Mail Specialist is a member of the Print & Mail Services team which is part of the Technology Services Department. This position reports to the Mail Services Coordinator. Primary responsibility is to provide outstanding customer service while assisting students, faculty and staff with Mail Service functions. The Mail Specialist is responsible for the campus mail delivery route, sorting and delivering mail and packages, assisting with Mail Services retail operations and assisting with various print production and bulk mail tasks. This position will also be assisting Facility Services staff as needed with various general maintenance and moving tasks as needed.
DUTIES
- Work closely with the Mail Services Coordinator to assist with Mail Services operation including sorting mail, operate postal systems including label printers, scales and postage/shipping software and point of sale systems.
- Assumes oversight of the mail services operation in the absence of the Mail Services Coordinator.
- Make Post Office pick-ups and deliveries as needed.
- Couriers bank deposits and money pick-ups for University offices.
- Assist Facility Services general maintenance team with campus projects including office moves, furniture moving and assembly, and various general maintenance tasks as needed.
- Pickup and deliver paper and related materials on campus and from local vendors as needed.
- Assist Print & Mail Specialist with copy jobs, print job finishing tasks and bulk mail duties as needed.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

- Ability to work independently and effectively with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of this position.

- Ability to work well with coworkers, faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to supervise student employees.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, time management and follow-up skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with ability to meet University driving standards.
- Proficient with the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, kneel, squat, lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
1. Must posses a High School Diploma or equivalency degree.
2. Previous mailroom, shipping, or courier experience desired.

1. Must have successful completion of criminal record check, pre-employment physical and pre-work screen, driving record check, and reference checks.
