Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY

Assists skilled maintenance workers. May perform simple repairs on electrical equipment and machinery or minor repairs to the facilities including painting, plastering, carpentry and plumbing. Effectively communicates with personnel of other departments, medical staff, patients and co-employees while performing duties and with suppliers to purchase materials.

DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Performs general facilities maintenance.
  • May perform simple repairs on electrical equipment and machinery or minor repairs to the facilities including painting, plastering, carpentry and plumbing.
  • Works independently and provides great customer service to customers.
  • Responds to general maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
  • 1 year related experienced required.
  • 3-5 years related experience preferred.
  • Facilities experience in a hospital / medical environment preferred.
Skills:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to operate computer and/or MISS programs on the computer.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be physically able to perform the tasks that require twisting, bending, squatting, crawling in tight spaces, lifting weights that may exceed eighty (80) pounds, and climbing ladders that range from 2’ to 40’ tall, on a regular basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work may be performed in various working conditions including wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and/or normal office conditions.
