We are hiring for a Caretaker/Maintenance Tech for Machias, Maine. This job is located in Machias. There are four low income housing complexes near each other and you would be responsible for all 4. This job requires you to be available for on-call emergencies, either to respond yourself or contact the appropriate vendor. All on-call time is paid as overtime.

Maintenance Duties

• Performs a wide variety of general and semi-skilled tasks such as carpentry, flooring, gutters, painting, drywall, light plumbing, light electrical
• Ensures all repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Demonstrates superior customer service.
• Ability to identify, diagnose and fix a variety of maintenance issues and notify management when a licensed professional is needed
• Loading and unloading building materials and tools
• Being compliant with all health and safety regulations
• Following instructions and completing work orders online

Caretaker Duties

• Office hours on site at each location
• Move-ins and outs as well as annual inspections
• Collect and deposit laundry money
• Provide applications to anyone interested in renting an apartment
• Complete apartment turnovers
• Answer questions/concerns for current tenants
• Answer onsite phone
• Arrange annual inspections with outside vendors
• Take maintenance requests and complete repairs
• Be on-call for all locations on nights and weekends
• Weekly cleaning
