Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be required to install, maintain, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on new and existing production equipment and or Facilities maintenance. The primary focus will involve maintaining process equipment by developing/performing PM's, documenting work and other duties as requested.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for continuous supply of GMP Utilities for uninterripted commerical operations.
  • Performed manufacturing and facility equipment maintenance, installations and repairs as needed by customers or determined through routine audits including but not limited to:
    • Utility Equipment: steam boilers, chillers, air handlers, air compressors, RO/DI & WFI water, etc.
    • Machine shop equipment: drill press, grinder, gas, and electric welder, power cutting tools, etc.
  • Work with various departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Complete emergency repairs as needed.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems as established in department procedures and audits and required by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables and change tooling equipment.
  • Monitor Facilities and Manufacturing operating equipment daily, troubleshooting problems and inefficiencies and recommending possible solutions.
  • Coordinate the services of outside vendors when necessary. Identify existing and potential operational problems and inefficiencies and recommend resolutions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining required documentation including but not limited to blueprints, plans, and permits according to Company SOP's and the requirements of external parties.
  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications - Skills & Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience or two (2) year technical degree with three (3) years of maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the industrial maintenance environment is required.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are essential and must possess these skills to be effective in this area without further skills training.
  • Must be able to read electrical prints and P&ID control loops.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain a strong safety culture within daily activities.
Education & Experience:
  • Trade school, certifications, or college-level courses related to construction/maintenance trades.
  • Experience in FDA or USDA regulated environment.
Physical Requirements: FIELD - While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to: •Work in a temperature controlled office environment or travel via vehicle or commercial transportation •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment •Position requires some degree of travel for business purposes •Employee may use computer, phone, copier and other office equipment in the course of a day •Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus Sedentary work Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Additional Physical Requirements: Standing 1-4 Hours Blood/Fluid Exposure Risk: Category III: Tasks involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
