SUMMARY: Perform routine preventative maintenance repair, trouble shoot, rebuild and align all equipment as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:

1. Ensure all machinery is in safe working condition.

2. Adhere to safety policies and procedures.

3. Actively participate in root cause analysis processes.

4. Assist in cross training of maintenance team and other team members.

5. Complete cost effective repairs in a timely manner.

6. Actively participate in CIP (continuous improvement process).

7. Complete assigned work orders and preventive maintenance work orders

8. Function as a member of Manufacturing, Engineering, 5s, Ergonomic, or Kaizan teams.

9. Responsible for quality of own work.

10. Must be flexible to work overtime and any shift as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; trade school a plus.

2. Journeyman certificate or 5 years industrial mechanical experience.

3. Working knowledge of common maintenance tools.

4. Ability to weld preferred.

5. General knowledge and experience in power transmissions, pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, etc as applicable in manufacturing and packaging equipment.

6. Proven fabrication skills and ability to read blueprints and drawings.

7. Good general and mechanical troubleshooting skills

8. Good general maintenance knowledge.

9. Basic machining experience in mill or lathe and ability to interpret precision measurement instruments (ie caliper, dial indicator, etc.).

10. Ability to use a computer keyboard to enter various data and work orders.

11. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must be fluent in English. Working-level second language skills is a plus. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and directors. Values and considers the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must regularly wear Personal Protective Equipment. The employee is frequently required to understand and comply with work directions and discriminate amongst various potential safety hazards. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SAFETY/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Adhere to company safety rules and all federal and state reporting agencies requirements such as OSHA and EPA.

Understand the ISO-14001 Environmental Policy which requires individuals to comply with environmental regulations, prevention of pollution, and continual improvement.
