Responsible for skilled and routine servicing operations throughout the Nursing Home and surrounding property

Qualifications of Maintenance Technician:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 1 year experience in the building trades, i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpentry and/or a combination of both.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Primary responsibilities include maintenance/monitoring of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, fire prevention, lighting and electrical systems.
- Troubles shoots and repair any type of equipment.
- Perform safety inspections.
- Maintains machinery, equipment, tools, etc., in proper working condition. Employees in this classification are required to use various hand tools, level and floor mounted power tools, machinery and equipment.
- Performs such work as plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs. Provides general assistance to contract electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.
- Insures the integrity of an active preventative maintenance program.
- Is completely familiar with the operation of fire safety systems and participates in situations of drills and actual disasters.
- Performs snow removal as required.
- Informs Maintenance Supervisor and discusses operations and maintenance conditions that develop on the job, such as machinery downtime and problems that affect scheduling and completing work.
- Applies paint to protect surfaces, trimming, fixtures of the building
- Assumes responsibility of evening and weekend, on call beeper coverage according to scheduled rotation.
- Abide by the Standards of Conduct which is the basis of the Organizational Integrity Program
- Compliance with Health Information Privacy (HIPPA) related laws and regulations
