20 hours/week 8am-12pm M-F (with on call rotation for eve/weekend coverage)

Qualifications of Maintenance Technician:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 1 year experience in the building trades, i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpentry and/or a combination of both.

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Primary responsibilities include maintenance/monitoring of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, fire prevention, lighting and electrical systems.
• Troubles shoots and repair any type of equipment.
• Perform safety inspections.
• Maintains machinery, equipment, tools, etc., in proper working condition. Employees in this classification are required to use various hand tools, level and floor mounted power tools, machinery and equipment.
• Performs such work as plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs. Provides general assistance to contract electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.
• Insures the integrity of an active preventative maintenance program.
• Is completely familiar with the operation of fire safety systems and participates in situations of drills and actual disasters.
• Performs snow removal as required.
• Informs Maintenance Supervisor and discusses operations and maintenance conditions that develop on the job, such as machinery downtime and problems that affect scheduling and completing work.
• Applies paint to protect surfaces, trimming, fixtures of the building
• Assumes responsibility of evening and weekend, on call beeper coverage according to scheduled rotation.
• Abide by the Standards of Conduct which is the basis of the Organizational Integrity Program
• Compliance with Health Information Privacy (HIPPA) related laws and regulations
