ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs, troubleshooting of rubber molding machines, hydraulics, production equipment, and electric rubber presses. May work with outside vendors to perform equipment repairs
• Maintain a replacement parts inventory and order parts when needed
• Ensures machines and equipment are in proper working order by performing preventive maintenance.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Performs building maintenance, repairs and improvements.
• Program and edit programmable logic controllers (PLC).
• Maintains a clean safe work area.
• Operates an overhead crane and forklift safely as needed.
• Follows OSHA required guidelines and company safety standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalency and three to five years of progressive maintenance responsibilities in a manufacturing environment. Understanding and proficiency with repairing, troubleshooting of equipment, hydraulic and electric presses required. Experience with injection molding machines a plus. Electrical certification, formal training or journeyman’s license a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and able to effectively communicate clearly and understandably both orally and in writing to coworkers and employees, etc. Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals blueprints, and schematics for various equipment.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions.

REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to prioritize tasks in a timely manner. Ability to investigate and troubleshoot equipment issues. Must use judgment in diverse situations including deciding when to ask for help. Ability to investigate and define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is essential.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be able to become forklift certified and crane certified and operate safely Must be able to use a computer to enter data through various software programs like Microsoft office products, ERP system, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, twist and bend. May need to climb ladders periodically as well
The employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Good hand dexterity is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Will need to regularly travel between facilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Manufacturing area may be hot during the summer months. Noise level is moderate and in certain areas of the manufacturing floor the following personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to be worn at all times when on the manufacturing floor: safety glasses and hearing protection.
