Job Description
Facility Contract Services is a Florida based contract services company, responsible for the employment and management of personnel for municipal clients. Facility Contract Services is currently seeking dynamic and goal-driven employees for the City of Pembroke Pines Public Services Division. Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of a variety of City infrastructure. Duties vary by department and/or division; performs related duties, as assigned.
Responsibilities:
· Moves desks, furniture, filing cabinets and other items.
· Prepares facilities for meetings and related functions; sets up chairs, tables, podiums, and other required furniture or fixtures.
· Able to build chairs and tables.
· Replacing light bulbs.
· Open up and close school grounds as necessary.
· Assist with directing traffic for student drop off and pick up.
· Have schedule flexibility to work after hours.
· Maintain the school grounds clean.
· Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include pressure cleaning, painting, repairing drywall, plumbing, and repairing doors and other fixtures.
· Basic computer knowledge to communicate maintenance item requests with school staff.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
· Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
· Ability to work effectively with other employees and the general public.
· Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Must possess their own tools.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
· Related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods standing and walking.
· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
