Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

Willis Custom Yachts Equipment Operator is responsible for performing routine equipment checks and maintenance, loading and unloading materials and equipment, and ensuring the facility is kept clean and equipment is safely turned off and stored.

The Equipment Operator should consistently follow health and safety regulations and be able to take instructions from superiors. Equipment Operators should display great hand and foot coordination and always be thinking of ways to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
  • Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off, or loading and unloading it.
  • Training new crew members in the safe operation of equipment.
  • Performing other facility maintenance duties as needed.
  • Observing the safe loading and unloading of equipment and other materials.
  • Promptly reporting all faults to the Supervisor.
  • Ensuring facility is kept clean and safe.
  • Attending meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation.
  • Identifying faults and troubleshooting equipment as required.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and the required maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Forklift operator’s license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating and maintaining forklift and lulls for material handling functions.
  • Must have a valid driver license and an MVR that meets company standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
