The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance and operational manufacturing tasks, performing typical and routine tasks to support the production, distribution and packaging departments. While this person is required to perform basic welding, electrical, fabricating, and mechanical duties, they must also be able to make decisions on recommendation to contact and schedule vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.

The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for implementing the preventative maintenance program with the assistance of the Maintenance Supervisor. This person is responsible for taking care of work instructions and/or any unexpected maintenance that may occur during the day. All maintenance is conducted while maintaining food safety and quality.

· Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

· When necessary, works with line leads in teaching or training routine maintenance functions.

· Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

· Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior: painting, minor construction, basic electrical, etc.

· Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when the next service is due.

· Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the building.

· Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITES:

· Must be reliable and able to troubleshoot and work independently.

· Must be organized, have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and takes the initiative to get things done.

· Documents maintenance duties and provides required reports.

· Performs any other tasks assigned and effectively communicates with others to support and improve the

overall team operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Prior maintenance experience and skills, along with hands on experience with machine breakdowns and troubleshooting problems.

· Ability to exhibit a positive image and professionalism to customers and co-workers.

· Quality experience including final inspection, preventative maintenance and blue print reading.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Be able to lift at least a minimum of 50 pounds.

· Must be able to work on call on rotating weekends.

· Must have a proven, reliable work history with references: attendance and punctuality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.24 - $22.77 per hour
