Job description

We are looking for an accounting, finance or business professional to join our team as a Managed Care Contract Negotiator.


The Managed Care Contract Negotiator provides financial and administrative oversight of managed care contracting with commercial payers for Lincoln Surgical Hospital and Nebraska Surgery Center.


This position is responsible for maintaining and increasing the contracted business while negotiating rates that enable the organizations to meet their financial objectives.


The responsibilities include continuous and thorough analysis, evaluating existing structures and rates, developing new partnership structures and reimbursement methods, payer contract identification, negotiations, performance monitoring, contract modeling, management of payer relationships, and responding effectively to health insurance entities and products entering the market.


Hours: Full time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks), Monday – Friday

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Experience in payer contract negotiation preferred.
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.


Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and ability to utilize negotiation techniques and practices to effectively advocate for the organizations.
  • Broad knowledge of healthcare insurance, hospital and ASC billing and reimbursement, administration, practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with current common coding practices including CPT4, ICD9CM, DRG and current Medicare reimbursement methodologies and quality initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, working knowledge of Excel, database analysis and reporting tools and other various computer programs and applications.
