Job description

Who are mSix & Partners?

mSix are one of the world’s fastest-growing media planning & buying agencies, having doubled in size in the last two years. Our international network now comprises over 40 offices across 3 continents.

We have a unique proposition and ownership structure, which is fundamental to how we operate for our clients. We are majority owned by our partners within The&Partnership, but our joint venture with WPP means that we are able to offer a true ‘best of both worlds’ advantage. This means a progressive and entrepreneurial approach to business and culture, whilst providing full access to GroupM’s market-leading pricing, data and technology assets.

We specialise in embedding resource directly into client offices, and flexibly partnering with other agencies to provide wider client solutions than just media planning & buying. We have a strong heritage in data and tech-led solutions and use this capability to mine data for real human insight that powers all our communications planning.

As a direct outcome of this progressive & transformational agenda, mSix has one key ambition: to be the most important place in the careers of our people.

Our Values

We are Energetic, Pioneering and Honest. These are specific to us, and reflect the culture of the agency and significantly the behaviours we seek out day to day within the business. We want to encourage individual Energy to all projects, to be Pioneering within our industry, and regularly receive Honest, and clear feedback.

Role Description

This is an exciting role working on one of the most important clients on the agency roster. EA are a truly global client and have recently restructured to place significant focus on media strategy, both at a campaign level, but increasingly at the organisational level. The EA account is at a pivotal point in its journey; we began our relationship in 2019, and after a hugely successful three years we have restructured our team and ways of working to ‘go further, faster’ for EA over the next three.

Our bold vision for EA is to inspire more of the world to play through media. To deliver on this, our mission, is split into three pillars:

Elevate: Taking the impact of media investment on EA’s business to the next level.

Evidence: World-leading data science and analytics to understand & prove our increasing impact.

Evangelise: Surface this impact and the opportunities it presents to all layers of EA’s business

This role of Audience Planner, based on the West Coast of America, is a unique aspect to our model. You will work with data of all kinds, from syndicated third-party research to brand tracking and EA first party sales data, as well as with GroupM’s proprietary data platform, to ensure that true data-led insights power all of our strategic thinking. As one of two Audience Planners on the EA business (the other located in London), you will sit as part of the strategy team, working in lockstep with strategists and planners, focussed on placing insight at the heart of all we do, with a core responsibility to present findings and wider thought pieces on audience approach & strategy to EA stakeholders.

Key role responsibilities:

Be a go-to point of contact for audience strategy and insight for EA clients and the EA mSix team

Provide support to the wider team in development and delivery of actionable audience strategy backed by data-driven insight – including hypothesis generation and investigation, recommendations on testing and measurement

Work closely with digital planners, media planners and account management, TechOps and other teams to deliver this approach for every brief, adapting to varying timescales as needed

Feed into the development and linkage of new data sources to benefit EA workflows and campaign effectiveness

Assist with training and governance of tools and systems in use around the agency network, to drive excellence and consistency

Staying abreast of developments in the industry, to utilize and communicate them as needed – be they within GroupM, among media partners, or the wider adtech/data ecosystem

What experience & skills does the role require?

3-5 years of experience building audience, business, or marketing insights reports for high-profile brands/clients

Ability to make the complex feel simple – taking multiple inputs and crafting into a clear, compelling and coherent narrative that clients and local mSix teams can understand and deliver plans against

Track record of working with diverse datasets, ideally with (but not limited to) a strong digital background (e.g. DMP-type data, social and general marketing analytics)

Ability to contribute effectively to multiple concurrent projects, working in teams in a fast-paced environment

Experience in producing client-ready presentations and communicating them effectively to stakeholders of all levels where needed

Key attributes

Curiosity and an inquisitive nature is critical

Analytical

Organised and proactive

Progressive and open-minded

Clear and engaging communicator
