Your Opportunity as the Manager, Design
This role is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of package design across the JMS portfolio of brands. This role demands excellent communication skills, and requires ongoing collaboration with many internal teams, including Brand Marketing, Innovation, R&D, Insights and Production. The Manager, Design will lead creative activities that include new item packaging design, adaptive line extensions, naming, photography, and packaging redesigns. This role facilitates Design Reviews regularly, providing recommendations to the Brand/Innovation Managers and leverages expertise to elevate design excellence across our portfolio. Uses a blend of project management, business acumen and design management skills to successfully lead packaging initiatives across multiple JMS brands.
Location: Orrville, Corporate Offices
Work Arrangements: Hybrid, 25% in office expectations
In this role you will:

Independently manage design initiatives for Portfolio level rollouts, Adaptive line extensions and Tier 2 brand redesigns.

Collaborate with Brand and Innovation teams to translate objectives into clear design briefs/assignments for agencies, ensuring cross functional alignment on the project objective.

Work directly with outside agencies, photographers, illustrators, and the production team to deliver work that is outlined in a design brief, while adhering to budgets, timelines and brand standards.

Work closely with Production team to ensure design intent is carried through to execution.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, package design or similar
-
5+ years creative project management experience
-
Experience leading design projects for National or Global brands
-
PC and MAC proficient with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Self-starter with proven ability to multi-task
-
Excellent presentation skills
-
Willingness to travel ~10% (domestic travel only)
