We serve the students of Houston, Texas, the 4th largest city across the United States. There are over 20 public-school districts and other great public charter school options, like KIPP Texas-Houston and IDEA Public Schools, within Houston’s city limits serving our increasing population. • Overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of the co-curricular, Saturday, holiday, and summer opportunities at the assigned school.
• Planning, implementing, and/or coordinating all required YES Prep co-curricular program activities (tutorials, ACE, Athletics, clubs etc.) in collaboration with school administration and in alignment with regular school day and campus priorities;
• Assisting in executing Admin Duty during the day or after school in order to ensure programming is running effectively;
• Working directly with your campus Director of Student Support, Director of Academics, and ACE/Aspire Coordinator to identify the highest-need students and their immediate family members to participate in the program;
• Assuring regular student participation by monitoring attendance and taking steps to ensure student participation objectives are met or exceeded;
• Tracking all ESSER spending and finance reports to ensure appropriate spending of ESSER funds;
• Assuring program operational requirements are met or exceeded in coordination with the Director of Campus Operations;
• Recruiting, training, and overseeing after-school staff including paraprofessionals, teachers, and contractors to ensure high-quality programming;
• Facilitating ongoing communication and collaboration between the school, the program, community organizations and services;
• Monitoring co-curricular program budget expenditures for assigned campus;
• Monitoring program to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements;
• Overseeing the collection, coordination, and entry of data into YES Prep databases;
• Organizing and overseeing program supplies, materials, equipment, and transportation;
• Assisting the school administration with progress and evaluation reports and continuation application;
• Attending all required meetings, conferences, and trainings;
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team, leading adults, students and/or a program
• Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
• Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment

• Team management and experience with grants and fiscal management

• Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience and grant parameters.

  Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $10 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
