SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Asset Protection, this position is responsible for managing and executing all asset protection functions within an assigned region with a focus on minimizing merchandise inventory shrinkage and the loss of cash and other assets. The key focus for this position will be to promote and expand shrink awareness and to manage programs and initiatives intended to drive shrink improvement. This position will provide assistance and training to the field operations teams to address specific areas of asset protection, including the formulation of defined action plans. This position will be responsible for the investigation and resolution of internal and external theft cases in the retail stores, will participate in organized retail crime (ORC) investigations and will perform analysis and research utilizing the Asset Protection exception-based reporting system. Asset protection responsibilities for an assigned region generally encompassing generally between 75 and 125 retail stores.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Manage and execute Asset Protection programs and policies: Oversee Asset Protection in their assigned region to ensure an effective, proactive and consistent approach to shrink and fraud reduction; Drive improvement in the awareness of inventory shrinkage; Develop and implement effective shrink action plans for all high risk stores; Maintain responsibility for the execution of all Asset Protection initiatives including retail store assessments; Actively partner with retail store and district teams in the development and implementation of action plans to improve performance.
  • Identify and resolve integrity, dishonesty issues and training opportunities: Maintain a leadership role within their assigned region in developing information on suspected fraud, theft of assets or burglaries; Manage their personal caseload to insure proper prioritization and that every investigation is in compliance with all applicable laws and Company policy; Evaluate the adequacy of evidence and make recommendations to HR (termination and / or criminal prosecution) or outside law enforcement (criminal prosecution); Coordinate with the Director, Asset Protection and HR on situations involving Team Member non-theft misconduct, policy violations, etc. to insure fair and consistent documentation; Ensure effective utilization of physical security controls in assigned region to prevent and reduce merchandise inventory shrinkage; Consistently Uutilize exception-based reporting (JAWS) to identify potential issues and training opportunities for Team Members.
  • Manage and oversee physical security and other Asset Protection tools: Serve as subject matter expert for all physical security programs and related processes within the retail stores, including lockup and anti-sweep fixtures, alarm systems, closed circuit television and supporting programs; Ensure all related physical security and other Asset Protection tools are properly positioned and scoped in new and existing retail store locations; Regularly assess physical security and other Asset Protection tools within assigned region and recommend changes and/or additions, as needed.
  • Maintain partnerships: Develop and maintain a formal partnership with the assigned Regional Vice President; Meet with and travel regularly with the assigned Regional Vice President; Develop and foster open lines of communication with District Team Leaders, retail store personnel; Communicate appropriately and effectively with Team Member Relations, Operations and other Store Support Center management; Maintain partnerships with the appropriate organized retail crime organizations within assigned region.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects, as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Travel will be required up to 100%

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong conflict management and negotiation skills; solid understanding of policies and procedures and internal controls; travel will be required (up to 100%).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Criminal Justice

  • Preferred Education: Graduate Degree / Masters degree - Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Criminal Justice

  • Minimum Experience: 6& previous experience in Accounting, Finance or Asset Protection.

  • Preferred Experience: 7& years Retail or Asset Protection experience.
