Flagship Credit Acceptance, a non-prime automotive lender, seeks an experienced professional to join its Information Technology Department as it looks to transform and enhance its position in the market as a leading non-prime consumer finance lender. Candidates should be comfortable with small company environments and expected to concurrently manage multiple complex projects and a fast-paced dynamic organization. The Manager SQL Developer is both a lead and part of a project team working to deliver data solutions to the business.

What is a day in the life at Flagship as a Manager of SQL Data Development?

• A point person of the project team working to deliver data solutions to the business. Working with other business departments and within the IT department to prioritize work and create processes to ensure company goals are met. Supporting data manipulations, generation, and clean-up requirements
• Develop and drive (SDLC) System Development Life Cycle for the SQL Data Teams
  Responsible for developing / maintain source code control method for SQL Data Teams
• Develops project plans for the development of new and modification of existing databases. Coordinates all aspects of project plan, incorporating other necessary assets as required. Ensures project milestones are met and takes corrective action to keep project on schedule
• Assigns tasks and projects to more junior staff to assist in completion of departmental goals and objectives. Monitor’s progress and takes corrective action as necessary.
• Provide direction and vision, goals, objectives, etc. to team.
• Serve as escalation point for issues, problems, complex technical decisions, etc.
• Set individual goals and objectives, conduct performance reviews and coaching, establish staff development plans, and manage current and future capability of the team.
• Address all staffing and resource issues, establish performance improvement plans as necessary, works with HR and senior management as warranted
• Create status reports for upper management providing metrics to support the results
• Take lead on project development and train end users on new or modified programs
• Work with Project Team to review project intent and flush out technical requirements
• Interface with internal clients to gather requirements and provide coding and development as well as support and maintenance
• Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary
• Code review of colleagues work to ensure consistency and viability of logic before they are released to production
• Approves Execute database change requests
• Work with software Q/A to create a process to test corrections, ensure their team members participate in the deployment process
• Provide technical guidance and training of the T-SQL to application development team members
• After-hours support for application release and change management activities
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical database incidents

About you:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent
• 10+ years of MS SQL Server experience
  
• Strong experience with ETL and (Active Batch or Control-M)
  
• Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019
  
• Experience in consumer financing (preferred)
  
• Experience with SSIS packages to load, transform and process data
• Ability to work in a fast-changing environment
  
• Knowledge of administration and best practices
  
• Advanced understanding of T-SQL programming, SQL queries and stored procedures
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Strong knowledge of database administration and best practices
  
• Skilled enough to teach and mentor junior members on any of the technical skills listed
  
• Ability to learn new technologies
  
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Active Batch
  
• An understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019
  
• General understanding of programming techniques and practices
