Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the Manufacturing Training Supervisor is responsible for identifying and monitoring training needs will lead the plant’s hourly training strategy and related programs as part of our journey to manufacturing excellence. This role will work closely with our Production & Maintenance teams to develop, implement and evaluate our training systems across the plant. The Training Supervisor will be responsible for the orientation, on-the-job-training, skill assessment and certification process, developing and documenting training programs based on needs analysis methodology, identifying a trainer network and certification process to ensure capability, and building training facilities within the plant to support both self-directed learning and knowledge transfer processes. This role works to engrain a learning culture in the plant.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for development and delivery of the following hourly training systems in the plant, including but not limited to new hire orientation, mandatory training requirements, on-the-job training and certification processes & technical capability building
  • Monitor and approved the effectiveness of our training systems by actively seeking feedback via a variety of vehicles.
  • Responsible for driving training solutions, utilizing known training methodologies, to include needs assessment (survey, focus groups, leader or SME input and personal observation), building curriculum and design instruction based on the 70,20,10 model, developing a robust communication plan, and implementation of plan
  • Leads the training activities for the plant and can build capability and coach others on all related systems and processes, serving as a SME.
  • Develops and maintains a record keeping system that provides relevant information concerning training content, activities, attendance and evaluation, serving as a SME of the system and building capability in all end users.
  • Create and manage a system of SOPs, SSOPs, Job Aids, One point lessons, training presentations/videos, etc.
  • Works with the HR Manager to plan and forecast training needs
  • Develops and manages the new employee orientation curriculum, in coordination with all key stakeholders (HR, QA, EHS, Operations, Technical, etc.).
  • Establishes and communicates training policies within the plant.
  • Create and manage a system of SOPs, SSOPs, Job Aids, One point lessons, training presentations/videos, etc.
  • Ensure the completion of all required records, paperwork, documents, etc. to ensure the plant is always audit ready.
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in changes in systems and in the industry.
  • Leads in developing and maintaining various types of documentation including business procedures and training materials, and the management of the various repositories from which this information is distributed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum experience (5) years and three (3) years of training experience is preferred, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in instructional design, developing of training materials, aimed for a wide range of audiences and experiences
  • Experience in continuous improvement cultures, with TPM or Lean related experience preferred.
  • Ability to connect and build relationships with all levels of the workforce, leading and coaching others to provide them the ability to be their best.
  • Excellent Communication Skills, written, oral, presentation, etc.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to bring alternative viewpoints out and lead the team to consensus.
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment, problem solving and decision- making skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as training materials, procedure manuals and operating instructions.
  • Ability to lead, develop, direct and hold others accountable
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and strong presentations skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and ERP systems.
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Must be organized and able to manage time well, handling multiple tasks and projects.
  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic; also must be persuasive and diplomatic.
