HOPE 4 Youth is a nonprofit organization in Anoka County that helps young people, ages 16 to 24, who are experiencing homelessness. Our name is an acronym for our core services: Housing, Outreach, Prevention, and Education/Employment. Our mission is to provide pathways to end youth homelessness. Our vision is that all youth will feel safe, valued, and supported while reaching their full potential. This begins with meeting their basic needs and leads to giving them the tools to thrive. We serve youth through a Drop-In Center, HOPE Homes, and HOPE Place. Our approach utilizes trauma-informed care, is strengths-based, is client-centered, and focuses on harm reduction.

BENEFITS:

  • Schedule may be flexible with potential for some remote work
  • Monday - Thursday schedule but may require some evenings and weekends based on the events schedule

JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing and Events Coordinator reports to the Director of Advancement and will assist in advancing the mission and goals of HOPE 4 Youth and of the Advancement Team. The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, development and implementation of the organization’s marketing and communications activities and special events to increase visibility, brand awareness and community support for HOPE 4 Youth. This person works in conjunction with the Advancement and Programs teams to support youth engagement and revenue generation. This role leads social media efforts, design of marketing materials, website management, event management and public relations efforts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing and Communications

  • Creates and designs effective promotional materials keeping the community and stakeholders informed and engaged with HOPE 4 Youth’s mission
  • Ensures consistent messaging across the organization and help the organization to maintain brand integrity across all platforms
  • Works with staff to create captivating content, stories, and features for HOPE 4 Youth’s website and other digital platforms, including writing and editing and phot/ video content
  • Coordinates the development, design, formatting, and production of all collateral materials
  • Coordinates promotions of all events and the organization including mailings, social media, event campaigns, etc
  • Monitors, reports and presents online engagements and analytics and use analytic tools to assess, report on and make data driven decisions surrounding the effectiveness and impact of these initiatives
  • Fosters strategic public relations to build and expand relationships with internal/external constituents and capitalize on earned media opportunities that contribute to the organizations support and success.

Events Coordination

  • Coordinates and organize the details of HOPE 4 Youth’s main special events including the annual A Night 4 HOPE, the Darkest 4K, Hunt 4 HOPE and other internal events
  • Establishes and maintain relationships with vendors and venues
  • Supports events with high attention to detail, time sensitivity, internal and external stakeholders to move events forward and ensure through communication of event details and resources.
  • Manages details including: online registration, RSVPs, data entry, etc. accurately and consistently.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Advancement, assists with sponsorships including revising and adapting levels and benefits and communicating and acquiring sponsorship leads
  • Ensures and excellent donor and participant experience at events
  • Coordinates day-of events processes including but not limited to event set up and take down, swag distribution, parking, tents and rentals, and event troubleshooting
  • Works with the Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure all event day volunteer staffing needs are met

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or begun Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, communications, public relations or marketing, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in nonprofits, communications, or event management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends
  • Adheres to timelines, manages own time accordingly, and can juggle competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a diverse, mission-driven agency committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion with respect to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual-orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, and religion
  • Volunteers are an integral part of our work and culture at HOPE 4 Youth. All staff must embrace volunteers as an integral part of the organization, and be willing to manage, supervise, work alongside, and foster good relationships with volunteers
  • Must be computer and technology savvy, and must be proficient in all MS applications, Adobe Creative Suite and website management (WordPress)
  • Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Suite products
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while handling a complex and diverse workload
  • Strong media skills are required
  • Must have the ability to write, speak and communicate clearly and professionally

Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet HOPE’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state and working remotely).
