SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the marketing activities of the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino and to provide information to all departments related to entertainment, special events, sponsorships, advertising and guest first initiatives. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Is responsible for the coordination of all details and information related to special events, entertainment, advertising, sponsorships and Torch Talk with all departments.

2. Works closely with the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager to build, enhance and retain positive relations with the media and other organizations.

3. Reviews and discusses advertising messages, corporate image and identity with the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager.

4. Functions as the liaison between the agency of record and the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.

5. Works in coordination with design team to open and close all jobs within timing requirements and budgets, paying attention to quality and appropriateness.

6. Maintains in house service programs and communication channels related to all advertising pieces and external marketing campaigns.

7. Assists with the development and coordination of direct mail, Internet marketing and promotional events or functions.

8. Works with entertainment agencies, hotel sales and marketing to ensure that entertainment contractual agreements are appropriately implemented.

9. Is responsible for using industry knowledge, competitor information and market trending to research and recommend potential entertainers, events or enhancements to existing marketing and promotional activities.

10. Maintains and analyzes results and outcomes of special events for review by the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager.

11. Maintains effective systems to manage seasonal or quarterly promotions, entertainment calendar and appropriate checklists.

12. Participates in departmental meetings to assist with developing marketing concepts, promotional activities or public relations campaigns.

13. Coordinates projects under deadline and within intense time constraints while achieving desired outcomes.

14. Assists marketing department staff with editing or expediting information when necessary.

15. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Operates independently with supervision received by the Marketing Manager.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Continual contact with associates at all levels within all levels of the organization.

External: Continual contact with guests, visitors, suppliers, entertainment booking, advertising agencies and charitable organizations.

EDUCATION: A high school education or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or other related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of experience in a marketing environment with exposure to promotions, direct mail or sales is preferred. Prior experience with supplier negotiations and in a casino environment is preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, prioritization, organizational, time management and customer service skills. Must be proficient with PC’s and related software, deadline adherence and be able to manage confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and Scheduling: Is responsible for the planning and scheduling of own work activities.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Is responsible for participating in the development and adherence to the marketing department budget.

Responsibility for Establishing Objectives, Policies or Standards: Is responsible for participating in the establishment of departmental objectives, standards, policies and procedures for review by the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager

Impact of Decisions: Decisions may result in unnecessary expenditures.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work Conditions: Position responsibilities are performed in a normal office environment.

Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to loud music, outdoor weather conditions, and unpleasant guest behavior.

Physical Requirements: Majority of position responsibilities includes walking, sitting, standing, or operating office equipment.

OTHER: Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays. Must attend all mandatory meetings and departmental training and development sessions.
