Position Summary
The Material Handler position controls the flow of material between the warehouse and production ensuring that accurate records of material movements are maintained. This position is also responsible for palletizing finished goods in accordance with specifications. The role reports to the Production Supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Palletize finished goods according to specifications.
  • Move components to and from production line.
  • Remove empty totes/drums from the production line. Cleans and prepare totes for shipment back to the vendor/customer and staging totes for future use.
  • Ensure component and/ or bulk has release sticker applied and contacts QA if there is none.
  • Deliver material to production lines in a timely manner.
  • Return finished product from the production floor to the warehouse.
  • Responsible and accountable for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Alert Machine Operator when level of materials needed is low.
  • Assist with training new workers.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner using proper tools and wearing appropriate protective equipment as required.
  • Must be familiar with standard procedures used in a production environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 months experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Experience using material handling equipment, pallet jacks and lift trucks helpful.
  • Ability to perform routine or repetitive work.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to physically endure work schedule.
  • Must be capable of performing heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional heavy lifting during a line changeover. Prolonged lifting of cases of products when palletizing at the end of the production line.
  • Work is performed on moving assembly line while standing.
