ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensure adequate amount of material is on sorting table for sorters.
Pulls laundry carts onto lift.
Manually removes material from cart onto sorting table.
Separates and loosens material for sorters.
Insures adequate and constant level of material on sorting table.
Records carts and their number on tally sheet per station.
Informs supervisor of wet clothes.
Must wear company approved personal protective equipment at all times while working.
Will fill in, as directed by supervisor, as a Material Handler – Shipping, Material Handler – Wares, and Material Handler - Dock to ensure production goals are met.
Reviews and is familiar with Company safety policies, programs, and procedures. Adheres to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes, and attends safety training sessions and safety meetings.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Cleans work area by sweeping and removing all trash.
Returns out-of-department material to 2800.
Other duties as assigned.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Assembles tote boxes.
Assists other departments in moving material as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
On-the-job training is over a period up to and including three (3) months.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, seeing and depth perception. Lifting/Carrying: Heavy Work: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum, one-man lift, and 100 lbs. maximum, two-man lift, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Pushing/Pulling: Very Heavy Work pushing laundry carts 100lb or more on with frequency.
