Job description
Immediately seeking a Materials Engineer for a manufacturing company in San Antonio. This is a Direct Hire position.
Salary is $104,000 to $126,000 annually (based on experience).
The Materials Engineer is responsible for evaluating new materials, processes and suppliers. Consults with Product Groups on materials-related issues and is a key technical member of the R&D team.
Requirements:
- Minimun Master’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Polymer Science
- PHD preferred
- Seeking at least 7 yrs. experience in material science/engineering
- Working knowledge of thermoplastics, polymers and/or composite laminates preferred
- Extrusion experience preferred
- Interpret data and provide recommendations
- Testing, developing, troubleshooting
- Quality Control testing
- Cost management and budgeting
- Evaluation of economic viability of material for production
- CAD experience preferred but not required
- Product development
- Characterie properties in lab (forensic analysis)
- Analytics, R&D, extrusion, and coextrusion
- Some travel required
