WHAT YOU'LL DO
As part of the Engineering Department theMaterials & Processes Technicianwill complete research or testing on parts or materials to meet required visual, dimensional and acceptance requirements of engineering drawings and specifications. Will completewet layup and prepreg fabrication as well as surface prep for bonding applications. Other expectations may include:
- Assist in research, testing, and development of various improvements of composite manufacturing processes
- Work withcomposite materials: hand layup of prepreg, use of wet layup for composite parts, secondary bonding of composite parts, etc.
- Use various types ofhand and power tools
- Maintain a high degree of quality and attention to detail
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Other duties as assigned or required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Experience withlayup, bonding and assembly or repair of composites
- An Associate Degree or Certificate Program (such asAbaris) in composites is a plus
- Experience in setting upcuring equipmentsuch as oven, heated platens press, and vacuum systems
- Laminate fabricationskills, using prepreg and/or wet layup
- Understanding of the best practices related tofabrication of composite partsandbonded assemblies
- Work effectively under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience with various types ofhand and power tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
