Position Summary

Under general direction of Manager of Maternity Services, works on special projects of a various scope, as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth investigation and evaluation of assigned projects and reports findings to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in policy and procedure development, strategic planning, and participates on committees as assigned.
  • Assist with implementation of new technologies, new or revised procedures or services, and other special projects as necessary.
  • Assist in retention and recruitment activities for clinical staff within the health system.
  • Work directly with clinical staff, ancillary department personnel, outside vendors, accrediting bodies and others as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that personal performance reflects the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the health system.
  • Create, develop, and maintain Electronic Medical record within appointed scope.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and activities related to Electronic Medical Record updates and projects.
  • Investigates any issues related to the Electronic Medical record and routes issues to the appropriate person in Information Systems.

Requirements

  • Obtain Epic Care Inpatient Clinical Documentation and Stork credentials
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of various procedures, systems, and equipment typically encountered in a health care environment.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and the ability to utilize a variety of software (Epic, GE Connect, MIDAS, Word Perfect, Outlook, etc.) to assist in conducting research, compiling data and communicating findings.
  • Requires a level of proficiency normally acquired from two to three years of experience in the health care environment and completion of a Bachelor degree.
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, utilize critical thinking skills, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills necessary for outlining projects and developing strategic plans, policy and procedure writing, and interaction with various individuals within and outside of the health system.
  • Must maintain patient care skills and provide direct patient care as needed.
