Bridges seeks to hire a Math Intervention Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. The Math Intervention Teacher is a highly qualified teacher of mathematics who works primarily with 1st-5th grade students who require strategic and intensive intervention. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and in research-based instructional strategies for diverse learners. Bridges' mission is to provide an exemplary educational program that includes all students.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will:
- Preferred Master's degree but must have a Bachelors’ Degree in education or a related field, preferably with an emphasis on math instruction
- Have 3 - 5 years of successful experience in implementing math intervention in a classroom or pullout setting
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, parents, families, and community members
- Have excellent time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Have experience in data collection
- Demonstrate excellent behavior management skills
- Be committed to their own learning
- Have a track record of being a team player and community minded
- Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population
- Adhere to a high level of professional and ethical standards
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare, write, and implement lesson plans that provide targeted instruction that meets the need of each individual student
- Collaborate with Curriculum Coordinator and classroom teachers to create the intervention pullout schedule
- Administer quarterly and ongoing assessments to determine students’ progress and appropriate next steps in instruction
- Develop a system to document and maintain data on student progress
- Facilitate a collaborative relationship with teachers, parents, and administrators to provide regular updates on students’ progress
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and Curriculum Coordinator on instructional strategies and tools to support student learning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and Curriculum Coordinator on students’ readiness to exit intervention
- Attend and participate in planning meetings
- Participate in parent/teacher conferences and Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) meetings.
- Contribute productively to the school as a whole
- Attend and participate in school events outside of regular school hours
- Other duties as assigned
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary is based on educational level, certification(s), and years of experience. Employees will be contracted yearly. Employment agreements will be renewed according to evaluations and staff interest. Health benefits (medical & dental), disability insurance, and a retirement plan: 401-(k) or the continuation of the DCPS retirement plan.
To ensure safety for all students, all staff members may be fingerprinted. Background checks will be conducted on all school staff prior to their service as employees. Pay: $52,500.00 - $78,500.00 per year
