Operations include GCC Energy an underground coal mine (King II) in Hesperus, CO. Producing coal for use in the manufacturing of cement we serve a niche market with a bright future. High quality coal in strong demand, long term reserves and excellent working conditions. Located in beautiful Southern Colorado the mine is in close proximity to Durango CO, Bayfield CO Farmington NM, Cortez CO and Mancos CO among other areas. This area is an outdoor lover’s paradise.

What you will do:
Perform, mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair work on all equipment associated with an underground coal mine.

• Perform servicing, mechanical and hydraulic repairs of underground mining equipment.
• Maintain underground equipment in permissible condition as defined by MSHA.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, and complete reports and records as required.
• Perform other, non-maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Read and interpret blue prints and follow maintenance manuals and parts books to set up and perform tasks.
• Document work as required is SAP and other applicable systems.
• Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Insures all activities are carried out with full consideration for the safety of all employees.

Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associates degree in electrical preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in the mining industry.
• Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal mining regulations pertaining to underground mining including electrical permissibility Planning & Organizing Skills
• Must have demonstrated operating, servicing, repairing, and troubleshooting skills on section and outby equipment (continuous miners, battery haulage equipment, feeders, scoops, roof bolters, etc.)
• Must be willing and able to obtain MSHA electrical certification within one year of working in the Mechanic II position. (High, medium, and low voltage, underground and surface)
• Must be able to troubleshoot from blueprints and service manuals.
• Experience reading Electrical Schematics.
• Must have demonstrated welding & fabrications skills

• Interpersonal Skills

Work Hours:
Graves, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am
Days will be either Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday
