NOV Pressure Control Group is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at 6390 North Eldridge Pkwy. The main responsibilities of this role include:
JOB SUMMARY
Perform mechanical engineering work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide engineering support on mechanical equipment.
- Conceptualize mechanical design solutions.
- Perform and/or supervise creation of design layouts.
- Perform and/or supervise creation of detail drawings.
- Perform tolerance studies and check design documentation.
- Research and specify purchased component parts.
- Create component and system level test plans and test fixtures.
- Create engineering reports documenting design efforts and results.
- Work with operations to identify product improvements.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and/or implement pressure vessel and structural equipment
- Design subsystems, assemblies and their components to meet customer and internal requirements within budget and schedule constraints
- Create bills of materials and oversee creation of drawings to support new designs
- Revise drawings and bills of materials for existing designs
- Perform validation and verification of designs in accordance with established industry standards and engineering best practices
- Prepare stress analysis, hydraulic diagrams, and critical assembly instructions
- Analyze design reliability, serviceability and manufacturability
- Facilitate collaborative communication and provide support to both internal departments, such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Product Engineering, Project Management and Sales, and with external customers
- Collaborate with drafters/designers on design tasks. Function as lead on tasks of high complexity
- Cooperate with other mechanical engineers on detailed design work
- Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s)
- Perform engineering duties at customer sites, or offshore when required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

- Required - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree.
- Required - 3 years' oil and gas work experience.
- Location: 6390 N. Eldridge Pkwy., Houston TX. 77041.
- Hybrid schedule 3 days in office and 2 days remote work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $59,508.64 - $100,673.13 per year
