Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Manager and/or Medical Director, will assist licensed medical staff in the preparation of patients for delivery of services utilizing basic administrative clerical and technical skills. Duties include but are not limited to: Front Office - handling incoming calls and direct them as necessary. Register and pre-register patients, ensure insurance authorizations have been obtained if required. Schedule appointments and coordinate procedures as necessary. Inform and educate patients on preparations for scheduled exams. Enter orders using computer system and handle super-bill as necessary. Take payments. Back Office - assist with procedures as needed, process specimens/lab samples as needed and take vital signs.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• One - three years experience working in a health clinic setting or physician office.
• Direct contact with patients and families. Enjoys working with patients of all backgrounds, including low-income and Spanish-speaking persons.
• Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record Certified Medical Assistant.
• Completion of medical terminology or equivalent work experience.
• CPR Certification Skills will be tested at time of interview
• Ability to move quickly from one task to another independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, staff and supervisor.
• Ability to take instructions, comprehend and follow through effectively.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Demonstrates excellent computer skills with the ability to type accurately at a moderate pace.
• Ability to ensure that diagnosis correlates with the procedure/exam requested.
• Ability to accurately relay messages between physicians and patients.
• Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking Certified Medical Assistant, CPR Certified

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
