MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is for a full-time certified medical assistant Monday -Friday. The hours are from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

SKILLS: The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in orthopedics, possesses good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Experience in Epic, our EHR system, is preferred but not required. You must have the ability to communicate with and relate to patients effectively. A calm and pleasant demeanor when interacting with both patients and staff is a must.

Requirements:

  • Prepare charts the day before clinic, work with staff to be sure all necessary demographic and insurance information is up to date and confirm a referral if needed has been obtained.
  • Answer phone calls, screening calls for the physician, greet patients, entertain inquiries.
  • Perform patient’s intake and history, be sure all information is accurate and up to date and have all information pertaining to the visit type ready for the physician i.e. (films, orders, forms, braces, supplies etc.).
  • Clean treatment rooms between patients.
  • Maintain stock supply and report to practice manager any orders to be placed, maintain DME and injection logs daily/weekly.
  • Coordinate/scheduling all patient testing and imaging studies.

Secondary requirements: You will occasionally be expected to assist with other office tasks such as check-in/out, medical records requests and general phone calls.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
