POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing supervision to clients/clients and facilitating deliverable services. Coordinates and arranges medical services for the program, while ensuring execution of program policies and procedures and staff and client/client safety measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position

1. Provides client supervision in a safe setting, monitoring and recording client vitals per contractual requirements.

2. Supervises clients in the self-administration of medication and documents appropriately — complete medication inventories under the supervision of the nursing department.

3. Utilizes and promotes the appropriate treatment model with all clients. Conducting appropriate interventions and providing support.

4. Observing and documenting relevant client information and behaviors. Ensuring communication lines between all departments (Sobering Center, Withdrawal Management, Residential).

5. Maintains accurate documentation in electronic healthcare record, staff log, charts, medication log, facility forms, and/or other reports in a timely manner.

6. Conducts and documents client checks and counts.

7. Conducts and documents drug testing and/or breathalyzer.

8. Responsible for maintaining and ensuring all medicines are safely and securely stored.

9. Conducts routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security. Including client and property searches.

10. Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time.

11. Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings.

12. Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others.

13. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent in this position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

· High school diploma required.

· Certified Medical Assistant certificate, EMT or higher preferred.

· Minimum of one (1) year working in Healthcare, Mental Health or Substance Abuse treatment field.

· Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
