Job description

Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
* Maintains patient flow into examination rooms
* Assists Dermatologist with examination of patient
* Sets up surgical trays and assists with surgeries
* Applies sterile dressings, along with discussing wound care instructions
* Performs suture removals
* Sets up light treatment booth for phototherapy
* Sterilizes surgical instruments and maintains autoclave
* Notifies patient with various test results and discusses various treatment plans as ordered by physician
* Processes paperwork for pathologies, prescriptions, prior authorizations and general office documentation
* Schedules surgeries by making arrangements with the appropriate doctor; verifying times with patients;
* Cleans examination rooms between patients and ensures proper inventory levels of supplies
* Patient registration and discharge, answer telephone
* Utilize EMR software to enter all patient information.

Hours: 32 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). We are a one physician office. When the doctor is off your work hours will be less.

Skills/Qualifications:
1 to 2 years of medical assisting. Dermatology experience with surgical procedures preferred. Experience using eClinicalworks EMR software a plus. Excellent verbal, communication and organizational skills. Professional, Patient Focus, Confidentiality, Bedside Manner, Medical Teamwork.
