Rio Grande Urology is currently looking for a Full-Time Medical Biller to join our team!

Duties:

• Creates adjustments on denied or corrected charges
• Claim follow up using an aged receivable report
• Researches and processes insurance and patient refunds

• Submits corrected claims and appeals to insurance companies

• Verify insurances through portal or phone

• Modify insurance authorizations to add codes as allowed and needed

• Calls insurance companies to check status of claims

• Works on correspondence that comes in relating to claims

• Submits electronic and paper claims.

• Edits and resubmits denied claims.

• Complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), to protect patient confidentiality.

• Follows RGU’s policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the Business Office.

• Projects a professional demeanor and is courteous to patients, physicians, and health insurance representatives.

• Qualifications :
• Minimum 1 to 3 years of billing experience in a medical office required.
• High School Graduate or GED; Medical Office Specialist degree preferred.
• Bilingual
• Knowledge of billing and collection practices and clinical policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic coding and third-party operating procedures and practices
