Job Title
Medical Component Quality Control Specialist I
Responsible for checking, testing and inspecting, raw materials and products at different stages. Conduct routine analyses and tests of various technical ceramic components used in medical devices.
Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods. Compare the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
  • Conduct simple tests; record results and prepare simple technical reports.
  • Performs visual and measurement inspection tests using complex measuring equipment (i.e. CMMs, Profilometers, Vision Systems, and other Computerized Testing Equipment)
  • Performs Dye Penetrant and visual inspections to determine product conformance to specifications.
  • Utilizes precision automated and manual measuring equipment to accept or reject parts according to quality standards
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work, communicating required adjustments to appropriate personnel and ensuring quality product is released to customer
  • Reads and deciphers complex technical drawings and incorporates tight tolerances into part inspection process
  • Inputs and analyzes statistical data utilizing Infinity or other SPC software, documents data obtained during all quality inspection processes and examines statistical data to determine and maintain quality and product reliability
  • If applicable, operates inspection equipment; troubleshoots and resolves issues affecting quality of product and reports issues to leadership as needed
  • Acts as “go-to” person for quality control inspection procedures, willingly accepts responsibility for training other employees as required and ensures inspection methods are consistent and performed in adherence to quality standards and processes
  • Conducts training classes relating to inspection tools/equipment, processes, GD&T and technical drawings
  • Performs analytical test using instrumentation/equipment and perform measurement calculations as needed
  • Directs other department inspectors at request of team lead or supervisor in leader’s absence
  • Performs internal audits in accordance with Company and customer quality control standards
  • Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned

Job Requirements: Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of applicable product inspection experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to influence production team towards quality standards and specifications
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and possesses intermediate math skills
  • Exhibits strong problem solving, judgement and decision-making skills
  • Works effectively with a diverse group of people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Required to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Demonstrates resilience and a willingness to learn from experience, adapts to meet the needs of the changing environment
  • Performs detail oriented tasks using basic language and intermediate math skills.

Target Hiring Range: $17.90-$19.12 (additional shift differential available)
