Day Shift/No Weekends
Department Operating Hours: 6am-4:30pm, M-F

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A Medical Lab Technician who will supervise and perform daily laboratory activities to include but not limited to: instrument maintenance, specimen collection, specimen processing, specimen analysis, and results reporting.
  • In conjuction with Supervisor, administers employee orientation, education, training, and competency requirements.
  • Reports results in a timely manner and performs all quality checks to assure accuracy of results.
  • Conducts inventory and maintains adequate stock of supplies and reagents to support the laboratory needs.
  • Monitors temperatures to assure that reagents are stored properly.
  • Follows all instrument specific protocols in the operation and documentation of quality controls.
  • Assures that documents and logs are complete and accurate, in addition, will review department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and clean laboratory environment.
  • Follows universal standard precautions and safe practices in the handling of all biohazard material.
  • Monitors all laboratory activities to ensure compliance with licensing/regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures that the blood bank protocols and testing are in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Draws patient blood specimens, as needed.
  • Maintains quality control of eyewash stations, centrifuges, and thermometers throughout the hospital.
  • Utilizes the EMR to order, result, cancel and review testing.
  • Utilizes the reference laboratory computer system to register, order, and cancel testing when appropriate.
  • Complies with all OSHA health and safety requirements. Maintains all the MSDS for the laboratory department including additions and deletions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related science field required.
  • 3+ years of Medical Lab experience preferred.
  • Must meet CLIA and COLA standards as testing personnel.
  • MT/MLS certification or equivalent required.
  • Aware of laboratory standards and performs in accordance.
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
  • Must possess communication skills suited to a wide variety of audiences in both written and verbal capacities.
  • Ability to recognize and process confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
