Excelsior Family Medicine is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a welcoming and friendly environment to those seeking services through Excelsior Family Medicine. This position will be responsible for notifying providers of visitor arrival and properly checking them in and out of their visit.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Is responsible for ensuring front lobby guests are processed in quickly, correctly and in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Is responsible for answering phones, applicable emails, mail, and faxes and/or forwarding incoming calls, emails, mail, or faxes to the appropriate entity.
  • Ensures daily forms are properly stocked and available to providers.
  • Disseminates internal memos as directed.
  • Ensures office equipment malfunctions are promptly reported for repair.
  • Assists records and billing in report generating and data processing duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Attends all necessary meetings and trainings as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Represents Excelsior in a professional manner at all meetings internal and external.
  • Maintains professionalism and unity when communicating with patients, their families, and other representatives.
  • Preserves patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications required:

  • High School diploma/GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office & Outlook and other IS platforms; experience in EHR documentation preferred.
  • Ability to operate and problem solve fax machines, copiers, phone systems in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to remain customer-focused.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.44 - $20.80 per hour
