Essential Nutrition is a Boulder-based outpatient private practice for nutrition counseling services, currently comprised of eight Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. In addition to the Boulder office, we also have a Denver office. Responsibilities of this job:

Essential Nutrition is searching for an energetic, conscientious, well-trained individual who can work on-site, as well as remotely, and can handle the various tasks and requirements (see some examples below.) Please note, this is not a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position. Activities, duties and responsibilities will change and evolve as the company continues to grow and expand.

  • Answer phone, texts, emails in timely, professional, HIPAA-compliant fashion (M-F, part-time hours), while maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude; be the “face” of Essential Nutrition and provide stellar patient care and support.
  • Schedule patients using an electronic medical records system
  • Assist dietitians and upper management with various research, writing, marketing, and organizational tasks
  • Maintain office cleanliness and inventory supplies
  • Run errands for upper management
  • Assist in preparation of marketing, presentation, and educational materials, when needed, possibly including social media support
  • Contact patients and referral sources on a regular, ongoing basis to ensure top-notch patient care and referral source connections

Required Work Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • 1-2 years experience as a medical scheduler or front desk/scheduling experience
  • Fast, proficient, and accurate typist
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Mac Pages and Numbers
  • Outstanding communicator, both orally and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Self-starter who works well independently, and who takes instruction and supervision well
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong problem solver and analytical thinker
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with superb accuracy
  • Strong sense of urgency to solve problems and see daily tasks through to completion
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain HIPAA-compliance in and out of the office
  • High stress tolerance with ability to recover from setbacks easily, and navigate change and ambiguity with a positive attitude
  • Previous experience in the healthcare field would be an asset

Common surfaces cleaned and sanitized between sessions. Masks worn in presence of unvaccinated individuals (and whom are required to wear masks themselves.)
