JOB TITLE:
Medical Scribe
HOURS OF WORK: Part-time, Tuesdays and Thursdays
WAGE: Dependent upon experience and qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
To increase the efficiency and the productivity of the provider they are working for.
Duties include performing all clerical functions for a provider in a clinical setting. Responsible for the operation of the E.H.R. Must be discreet and tactful in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care. Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important.
PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES:
- Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits as they are being performed by the provider, including but not limited to:
- Pulling relevant chart information for the clinician to enable them to be more efficient and effective in the patient encounter
- Patient medical history and physical exam
- Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professional, including medical assistants.
- Changing the structure and content of the note based on the documentation accurately captures the assessment, plan and medical decision making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and diagnostic procedures.
- Experience working the medical field preferred.
- Ability to learn and use all functions of electronic medical records software.
- Ability to type 60 words per minute or greater.
- Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in all areas.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Computer and telephone skills.
- Regular attendance.
- Positive attitude.
