Member Service Representative

1st Gateway Credit Union currently seeks a service oriented, Member Service Representative (teller) to process day-to-day financial transactions at the Prophetstown, IL branch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Member Service Representative is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Using established credit union sales and service techniques to consult with members
• Recommending product and service offerings to best fit the members’ needs
• Responding to members’ requests, problems, and complaints and directing them to the proper person for specific information and assistance
• Opening new accounts and setting up files, and servicing existing accounts
• Handling member requests including transfers of shares to loan payments, shares to shares, share withdrawals, check requests
• Processing mail transactions
• Performing basic research of accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan payment discrepancies
• Assisting members with the proper completion of payroll deduction and direct deposit cards
• Promoting credit union products and services

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills; being candid with others and leading by example
• Progressive attitude and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to share ideas
• Outstanding organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• HS Diploma or equivalency degree required; financial background and 1-3 years’ experience working in a Financial Institution preferred

The work schedule will vary from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Saturdays will be required on an alternating schedule from 9:00 AM until 12:15 PM.
