Job description

Do you have a desire to help people take responsibility for their behaviors, develop and implement new healthy behaviors and ways of thinking, and create a fulfilling life free from crime?

Are you passionate about working with a client’s family, friends, and the community to help support clients on their journey to a prosocial way of life?

Center for Family Development (CFD), an outpatient behavioral health agency, seeks a full-time (40 hours/week) mental health therapist with interest and/or experience working with people mandated to complete a treatment program.

The Sex Offender Adult Recovery (SOAR) Program works with people who are mandated to treatment due to unhealthy and/or antisocial sexual behaviors. This program works closely with parole and probation to identify people who will benefit from what this program offers. Studies have shown that mandated clients who attend specialized programs such as this do go on to live a healthier and crime free life at a much higher rate than those who do not. This program helps to support the clients and the people who love them, leading to a safer and healthier community.

Duties include:

· Carry a caseload that is half mandated (sex-offense) clients and half mental health (outpatient) clients and provide weekly therapy sessions.

· Co-facilitate SOAR treatment groups and attend client graduation and transition groups.

· Coordinate care with outside providers, parole and probation and other community supports.

· Attend weekly supervision groups to address clinical issues with a diverse treatment team.

· Ensure all treatment forms are compliant with the State of Oregon standards and the Oregon ATSA Board.

· Train in modalities associated with Sex Offender Treatment (i.e., Good Lives Model, Lattices, Cognitive Behavioral Sex Offender Treatment, Footprints) and willing to learn and become proficient in state required, skills-based practices.

· Knowledgeable and proficient in prepping clients for offense-specific, maintenance and sexual history/full disclosure polygraphs.

· Must understand policy and procedure for mandatory reporting and duty to warn (working closely with Lane County Parole and Probation).

Requirements:

· Master's degree in social service field.

· Licensed, or working toward licensure, in the State of Oregon preferred (LCSW, LPC, etc.).

· Work toward registering with the Oregon Sex Offender Treatment Board upon hire.

· Successful completion of background check required upon hire.

· Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination status required upon hire.
