POSITION TITLE:

Merchandise Coordinator

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The MSUB Campus Store is situated in the lower level of the Student Union Building. Our primary goal is to enhance consumers shopping experience by offering superior customer service while cultivating an environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and accepted. The Campus Store is open year-round serving the Billings community and the students, faculty, and staff of MSUB. The Merchandise Coordinator assists the director in the daily operations of running a small retail business.

SALARY:

Salary range of $14.84 to $18.55 hourly, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The MSUB Campus Store is open Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday’s and is closed for most major holidays. Hours of operation are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with extended hours for special events.

• The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for opening & closing the store daily.
• Cashiering, answering the phone, and assisting customers
• Ordering, receiving, stocking, and displaying products in the store
• Processing & shipping website orders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Enjoy working with the public
• Have a positive and friendly work ethic
• Have excellent written & verbal communications skills
• Ability to multi-task while under pressure or in stressful situations
• Supervisory skills
• Work & think independently
• Critical thinker & problem solver
• ·Working knowledge of retail principles and practices
• Experience with Point of Sales terminals
• Proficient in computer and software use
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Box, and Outlook
• Counting cash & making change

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's in business management
• 1-2 years retail experience
• Working knowledge of the MBS Direct programs such as ARC4, AIP and Insite
• Participated in tradeshows & other purchasing opportunities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during busy periods. Some lifting of more than 60 pounds is required during periods of merchandise receiving and during returns. The position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, stretching, stooping, and squatting as required. There are periods of long hours behind a computer screen as well. Repeated lifting of 35-40 pounds during the start of each semester is required.

Pay: $14.84 - $18.55 per hour
