GENERAL SUMMARY:
Manage and coordinate the daily activities of Environmental Services and or Linen and or Patient Transportation. This position reports to Director of Environmental Services/Linen Services/Patient Transportation. This position is Exempt.
Responsible for managing daily operations of the Environmental Services department under the supervision of an EVS Director. Has 24-hour accountability for leadership team, personnel, managing department budget, hiring and onboarding of staff, managing supervisors with employee relations and overall department compliance/quality/service. Responsible for managing daily linen maintenance and management, sorting, building of clean linen carts, distribution, linen par level maintenance, and the retrieval of soiled linen and soiled linen carts. Manages movement of patient and other transportation needs or responsibilities. Consistently role models the Beaumont standards and utilizes Just Culture principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Manage daily operations of department including budget management, quality of cleaning audits, service to patients & departments. Will include daily active rounding and supporting all shifts.
2. Manage overall daily operations of Beaumont’s linen program as needed. This includes distribution, pick up of empty carts/soiled linen, and any additional needs of linen department.
3. Manage overall daily operations of Beaumont’s Patient Transportation department. This includes oversite of patient movement management of process in EPIC along with any other additional needs of the department
4. Manage department hiring and on-boarding of new employees, support supervisors with performance management, coaching and staff development.
5. Manage the department's quality program, develop processes for quality improvement, and implement quality improvement projects. Oversees internal and external customer service.
6. Collaborate with department director and hospital leadership for strategic planning related to staffing and cleaning practices.
7. Develop programs/practices/policies to ensure safe and proper usage and care of equipment and chemical products in compliance with regulatory agencies. Participate in department and hospital committees.
8. Support department director with hazardous materials inventory and manifest management.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education /Work Experience/Training: High School Diploma or GED required. Degree or 2+ years of Environmental Services Leadership experience preferred. Knowledge and experience in healthcare preferred. Knowledge of Patient Transportation operations in an acute care/non- acute care setting as it relates to work standards, job descriptions, policies and procedures, workload, quality control, budgeting, and department operations preferred.

C. Other Qualifications: Excellent organization, written and oral communication and human relation skills. Knowledge of hospital procedures and practices. Computer knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Will need to learn SA Audit and Bed Tracker.
