The Manager has fiscal and operational responsibility and accountability for standards of care and patient care delivery for Physical and Occupational Therapy in the acute inpatient setting; an adjacent outpatient PT clinic; Speech and Language Pathology across the continuum of acute inpatient – inpatient rehab- outpatient; and Audiology services for outpatients and newborn hearing screens.
As a regional, academic, and networked system of care serving Vermont and Northern New York; The UVM Medical Center provides a full range of tertiary-level inpatient and outpatient services.
The Manager leads a skilled, talented, and experienced team of supervisors, clinical leads, clinicians, and support staff. This position manages a budget of over 50 FTE’s, $10M annual expenses, and $15M annual revenue. The Manager collaborates as a member of the Rehab Therapy management team to plan for, lead, coordinate and facilitate patient flow processes, financial performance, staffing, space utilization, and coordination of resources within and across sites. The Manager leads and facilitates the development and implementation of projects, policies, procedures, and guidelines. The scope of activity that the Manager leads or participates in include multi-site, discipline-wide, department wide, and interdepartmental projects and initiatives. He/she demonstrates excellence in leadership, communication, problem solving, teamwork, evidence-based clinical practice and management, and has the ability to foster growth in others. In collaboration with leaders across the department, hospital, and network, the manager provides leadership, consultation, and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment. He/she collaborates with administrators and other members of the hospital operations and health care team to design, evaluate, and improve patient care systems and processes.
