ManagePoint is actively seeking a highly energetic Microsoft Systems Engineer resource to our team full-time, at our Wauwatosa, WI headquarters. The Microsoft System Engineer’s primary role is to plan and implement infrastructure, software and services through project work for basic complexity level requests. This role also acts as the second escalation point for the day-to-day operational support for server, storage or network infrastructures and monitoring requests. Other various related issues must be accomplished promptly as well, all matching or exceeding the customer service expectations ManagePoint has of its employees.
Essential Duties
- Leads the day-to-day operational support for server, storage or network infrastructures.
- Builds, tests and deploys infrastructure, software and platforms meeting clients’ needs and specifications.
- Assists in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure with the goal of adding functionality and/or enhancing performance.
- Performs storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.
- Performs software and operating system upgrades and track system licensing.
- Assists in creating policies for security settings or access permissions for groups and individuals on behalf of our clientele.
- Provides second escalation point to the technical support (help desk) team by working directly with users to troubleshooting problems related to network or infrastructure performance.
- Documents advanced procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware.
- Leads the routine maintenance of client infrastructure, software and services.
- Works with vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from client companies to plan projects, change control and strategic growth.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to Technical Support Specialists.
Required Qualifications
- 5 – 7 years of experience working in an MSP environment or corporate environment with multiple sites.
- 2 or more years of experience performing system engineer functions (requirements management, validation & verification test plan management, change control, product lifecycle management, etc.)
- Proven Advanced knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft 365 and Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD, Microsoft Server, Linux Servers, VMware Servers, designing & implementing hardware and software based BDR solutions.
- Proven basic knowledge of and experience working with VMware clusters, SAN and storage appliances, managed switches, firewalls, managed wireless networks, Microsoft Azure

- Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner through our testing process. This determined though a hands-on test performed at ManagePoint’s Headquarters.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with customers and ManagePoint peers
- Prove superior writing and oral communication skills
- Prove desire to keep current with technologies relevant to business
- Prove ability to manage difficult customer situations, respond promptly to the customer needs and solicit customer feedback to improve service
- Desire to champion new technologies in business environments
- Willingness to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Own a reliable vehicle for travel to client sites with valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance
- Be available at times to work off hours for customer migrations, upgrades and technical issues
- Willingness to commit to a personalized milestone continuing education plan

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
