Job description
General Summary:
This is a direct-service paraprofessional position requiring specific knowledge of mental health and skills in crisis intervention and stabilization. This position is responsible for responding to crisis calls that require face-to-face intervention with individuals and families in the community. This is an hourly pay position. The individual is expected to work as a member of a mobile crisis team.
Responsibilities:
- Receive referrals for mobile response and respond directly to the individual(s) in crisis for assessment and acute stabilization
- Participate in consultation with clinical staff to ensure effective and ethical decision-making
- Implement short-term follow-up plans or stabilization and transition plans as developed by the Mobile Crisis Clinician.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with individuals, their support system, first responders, Sheppard Pratt staff and community agencies to provide coordinated and comprehensive care
Requirements:
- Possession of an undergraduate degree in a human services field, or a Peer Recovery certificate with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Positively referenced, relevant work experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and coverage under an active auto insurance policy
- Working knowledge of crisis intervention principles and techniques
