ZLA Solutions has a client in Pinson, AL looking for direct hire role for the following - Multicraft Maintenance Technician

This is an excellent opportunity with a premier Tier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes in Class “A” Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails.

*The ideal candidate will possess 3 years of on-the-job training with a heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity.
*Must have highly proficient electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience.
*Must have automotive manufacturing experience as a maintenance technician.
*High pressure die casting or foundry experience a plus.

Responsibilities of the Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
*Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to companies’ plant standards and upholding the companies Employee’s Charter.
*Maintain, troubleshoot, and provide continuous improvement suggestions resulting in minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment in production area.
*Support installation and modification of equipment to ensure quality control requirements are met and process enhancements are realized.
*Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
*Understand and promote Company’s philosophies (Company Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee’s Charter).
*Follow and comply with all plant safety standards including LOTO.
*Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of various manufacturing equipment, including PLC, HMI’s, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Robots, etc.
*Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
*Maintain the integrity of safety devices including light curtains, safety gates, barriers, e-stops, guarding & fencing, etc.
*Assist in the design and installation of new/improved manufacturing equipment, components, and processes
*Make modifications to existing equipment as required
*Train operators and new team members on fixtures, control panels, etc.
*Provide support for machine improvements.
*Ensure equipment meets NEC, OSHA, RIA, and Company regulations
*Perform PM inspections as required, complete with all repairs.
*Disassemble defective equipment as well as replaces defective parts, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.
*May specialize in repairing specific manufacturing equipment, and equipment that is not specific to the manufacturing process.
*Use computerized or manual maintenance information systems to document the details of equipment-related issues, repairs made, preventative and predictive maintenance measures taken, etc.
*Use computerized or manual systems to facilitate root cause analysis for failures resulting in major downtime (as defined by the management).
*Interface with all necessary production associates, production supervision, etc., to ensure issues are identified and resolved.
*Promote, monitor and maintain good housekeeping (5S) 24)
*Perform other duties as required

Requirements of the Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician Casting

  • High School Diploma or GED required; a 2-year degree from a technical college or a minimum of 3 years on-the-job training with a heavy industrial manufacturing facility in skilled trade capacity
  • General knowledge of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical, robotics, or controls application
  • Journeyman Certification preferred
  • Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment
  • Must have a good understanding of rigging, cranes, etc.
  • Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Must have a basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet customer requirements
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have general knowledge on electrical theory and troubleshooting
  • Must have general mechanical knowledge

Compensation for the Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

  • Full-time Salary: $25.71 to $30.29 /hour

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.71 - $30.29 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Die Casting or Foundry: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Electrical troubleshooting & repair: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Industrial Maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
  • automotive manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
  • hydraulic troubleshooting & respoair: 3 years (Preferred)
