SCOPE

General Description of the Service

Summary

This Statement of Work (SOW) is for Subcontractor personnel and/or services to support Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) team by proving engineering support to the Tokamak Exhaust Project (TEP) team. SRNL requires 6-8 engineers with specified experience.

Background

SRNL is a multidiscipline Federally Funded Research and Development Center. SRNL seeks a services provider who maintains access to a broad range of engineering resources who will be able to assist SRNL with meeting mission needs.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

Task Requirements

The sub-contractor shall provide resumes of the personnel that have a mix of the desired experience requirements. The selected engineers shall become integrated part of your existing TEP team. Work shall be directed under supervision of TEP team lead and/or by the discipline designee. The work schedule shall be the 9/80 schedule. This includes four 9-hour workdays per week and one 8-hour Friday every other week for 80 hours every two weeks.

The individual tasks may include preparation, development, design and completion, or include assistance there to, for:

  • Performing reviews and assessments
  • Gathering and analysis of data
  • Developing and delivering presentations, program briefings and/or final reports
  • Participation in meetings, workshops, seminars, and conference calls
  • Project, and/or task execution, engineering and other study techniques
  • Process / procedure / product definition and/or improvements
  • Program / system plans and supporting documentation
  • Development of product engineering and product acceptance organizations, processes, and technologies

Period of Performance/Schedule

The period of performance for this subcontract is 6 months from the date of award with three 6 month options to extend.

Personnel Qualifications/Certification

A mix of the experience outlined in this section is required. Experience described can consist of a combination of individuals (i.e. one person contains a mix of the desired experience). SRNL is seeking 2 mechanical engineers full time equivalents (FTE), 2 electrical engineers FTEs, 2 structural engineers FTEs and 2 designers (drafting) FTEs. The desired experience is represented.

Mechanical/Structural engineer desired experience below:

  • Approximately 10 years of experience
  • Response Spectra analysis on steel structures.
  • Have used ASCE 4 and 43 for analyzing steel structures.
  • Have used AISC 360, AISC ASD, & AISC N690 to qualify plates and beams.
  • Familiar with pipe supports.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software for structural and thermal analysis. Preferably ANSYS Mechanical APDL or Workbench.
  • Understanding of equipment design; specifically structural and dynamic (e.g. seismic modal and response spectra) analysis. Related experience to include design and qualification of vessels, tanks, piping, etc.
  • Can analyze and qualify weld configurations per AWS D1.6.
  • Communicate additions/changes to Designers.
  • Experience producing equipment design calculations
  • Experience producing design documents, including specifications and datasheets that incorporate applicable design requirements, including nuclear safety requirements.

Mechanical engineer desired experience below:

  • Facility Design Engineer - piping/ASME B31.3/sizing (pressure-flow calculations). Communicate with designers as needed.
  • Facility Design Engineer - vessels,
  • ASME Section VIII Div. 2 + ESPN/PED.
  • Experience with software for structural and thermal analysis; preferably ANSYS Mechanical APDL or Workbench. Communicate updates or new design as needed with designers.
  • Experience producing equipment design calculations
  • Experience producing design documents, including specifications and datasheets that incorporate applicable design requirements, including nuclear safety requirements.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software for structural and thermal analysis. Preferably ANSYS Mechanical APDL or Workbench
  • Understanding of equipment design; specifically structural and dynamic (e.g. seismic modal and response spectra) analysis. Related experience to include design and quafication of vessels, tanks, piping, etc.
  • Facility Design Engineer - Glovebox, working knowledge of AGS G-006 and other related guidelines. Work closely with Designers to ensure needs are ultimately captured in the model/drawings.
  • Plant Engineering

Mechanical and Electrical engineering specification writer. Designer Mechanical desired experience below:

  • Modeling equipment and outputting related drawings as needed to manufacture. The tool to be used is Creo so need to have capability to use the 3D modeling as well as the 2D drawing side.

Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls engineer desired experience below:

  • I&C Facility Design
  • Power

Designer Electrical desired experience below:

  • Wiring diagrams
  • Cubical
  • Loops
