Job Description: Responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing programs, both short and long term range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be in proper business attire, including name tag, earpiece, and radio.
  • Be readily available/approachable for all guests.
  • Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
  • Extend professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
  • Become involved in the community and/or government affairs.
  • Attitude must be conducive to team growth, hospitality, and a serving environment.
  • Communicate all goals and results with associates.
  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, social media, and direct mail.
  • Partner with local businesses for marketing purposes.
  • Help develop annual sales and marketing budget.
  • Achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals, balancing sales/marketing with guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and communicate selling strategies with the Hotel Director, using reports and other forecasting tools.
  • Continually solicit new business for the hotel.
  • Lead group block and local negotiated rates contracts.
  • Visit each LNR account quarterly.
  • Monitor and release group blocks in a timely manner.
  • Be on the property if a group is scheduled to arrive. If not available coordinate with either FOM or Hotel Director.
  • Networking during breakfast and social hours (if the Hotel Director is not available), to uncover new business leads.
  • Ensure that all associates understand hotel selling strategies.
  • Stay current on local market conditions.
  • Prepare the annual revenue budget and annual marketing plan with the Hotel Director.
  • Maintain rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients, and the local community.
  • Manage the sales department.
  • Submit a weekly report to Hotel Director and Director of Operations for next weeks groups. Also, post this report for the front desk.
  • Submit month-end sales reports on progress to Hotel Director and Director of Operations. (New contracts/any updates)
  • Perform hands-on duties as needed to deliver guest services.
  • Be willing to fill in for front desk associates.
  • Pursue additional personal development.
  • Carry out all reasonable requests of which you are capable of performing.
