Music Therapist
Connections Academy East is hiring an energetic and motivated Music Therapist for a full time position, conducting individual and group therapy with our special education students. This position is set in a therapeutic day school environment, which serves children ages 6-21 years, with Special Education Eligibility (Emotional Disability, Other Health Impairment, etc.) and high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder presentations.

Special Knowledge/Skills
Strong clinical and behavior management skills
Strong and flexible musicianship skills
Excellent communication, organization, time management and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Duties of the Music Therapist include:
Conduct individual therapy with a caseload of children/adolescents who benefit from music therapy modality
Conduct weekly group therapy with classrooms and other small pull-out groups
Manage the music therapy programming for the school year and develop lesson plans for groups and individuals
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary teams to implement clinical goals including emotional regulation, sensory integration, social communication, self-expression, and focus and attention
Support students who seek performance opportunities at the school’s annual variety/talent show and Awards Ceremony
